Week in the classroom: A week of learning
Learning Adventures : A week in review
( 11/08/2025 - 16/08/2025)
The week from August 11 to August 16, 2025, was filled with various academic and extracurricular activities at our school 🏫. From teaching key concepts in chemistry to participating in awareness programs and school elections, the week was both productive and eventful. Below is a detailed account of each day's activities.

The week began with signing the register at 9:30 AM. In the first hour, I had a substitution class with 9A, where we reviewed 📝 notes and distributed new material. The students were attentive and participated actively in the discussion. In the second hour, I taught the concept of pressure to class 8A, focusing on its definition and applications. Later, I conducted a test on the second chapter of the Periodic Table with class 9B. Serving 🍴 food to students during lunch break brought a sense of community and camaraderie.

The day started with a morning assembly conducted by the 10th standard students, setting a positive tone for the day. I taught the portion on octet electron configuration to class 9B, highlighting its significance in chemistry. In a substitution class with 9A, we explored the concept of ionic bonds and their properties. The highlight of the day was attending the "Onnayi Poojyathilekku" program, a Kakkarishi Nadakam performance aimed at spreading awareness about HIV 🩺. The event was held in the school ground 🏫. Serving 🍔🍟 food during lunch break was a lovely experience.

The morning assembly was led by the 8th standard students, showcasing their leadership skills. I taught the portion on ionic bonds to class 9B, following lesson plan 18. In a substitution class with 9A, I taught electron dot diagrams and conducted a diagnostic test to assess their understanding. The students were engaged and asked thoughtful questions.

The school conducted elections 🗳️ during the first and second hours, followed by the announcement of results. The students were excited and engaged in the process. In a substitution class with 9A, I taught the portion on characteristics of ionic compounds. Later, I had another substitution class with 9B, where we explored electron dot diagrams. Serving 🍱 food during lunch break continued to foster a sense of community.
Saturday, August 16, 2025
Despite the school operating only in the afternoon due to the sad demise of Anagha, a 10th standard student, classes resumed with lessons on covalent bonds and characteristics of ionic and covalent bonds. I taught covalent bonds to class 9A and covered the characteristics of both ionic and covalent bonds with 9B.
The week was marked by a mix of academic activities, extracurricular events, and community service. Despite the challenges posed by the student's passing, the school community came together to support each other. The various lessons taught and activities conducted contributed to a productive and fulfilling week, highlighting the importance of both learning and community
bonding.
